To determine if an audio signal is running to/through a machine - Right click on the white triangle between the two machines, and select "Signal Analysis".
When in the sequence screen (F4), hold Ctrl and press the right or left arrow buttons to re-sort your machines. Sine909
The SoundBlaster Live Value is a great inexpensive program to use with Buzz. Besides having wonderful compatibility - The SB Live will let programs "Share" its WaveOut. This means that you may run multiple audio programs at once, all playing/recording sounds (i.e. Buzz + Sound Forge). This is very useful, since Buzz does not yet have a sample editor/trimmer. Sine909
Want a Multi-tap Delay? Simply add the plain Jeskola Deya, and add multiple tracks (Ctr-+) from the Pattern view. You may then change the delay points for as many taps as you would like. Sine909
To calculate the values between any two values of a parameter: Open the pattern view (F2) Choose the spot for the first number, add the value. Do the same for the next spot. Then highlight the area in between them (Hold Shift, move arrow down/up). Next Hit Ctrl-I to "Interpolate" The values. Sine909
Need some creative sounds? In the Pattern view, select some values (Hold Shift, hit arrows), and hit Ctrl-R to Randomize those values. Sine909
You may export any sounds from the Wavetable by selecting the sound and hitting the ">>" Button. This is very useful for the "Whitenoise Recorder" Machine. Sine909
To Import multiple sounds at once into the Wavetable, select as many as you'd like to import - and hit the << button. This will take in all sound files. Sine909
While working on a section of a song, its often useful to set your begining and end points in the sequencer around that section, and mute all other machines by clicking their title at the head of the column. This allows you to focus on the sequence. badger
To render a song as quickly as possible into a WAV file, simply set the wave device to SILENT. Then when use the HD recorder, it renders the song to wave as fast as possible, meaning that a 2 minute song will render in 1 minute if it uses 50%% CPU. Pyroscott
Need your drum and bass loop to pump? Run it through an EQ-3, eq'ing the bass up to 3/4, eq the mid down to 1/4 and up the treble to almost full. Now it might sound tinny it depends on the loop, so alter to taste. Static
To sweeten up a drum loop: Try sending it through A Filter2 with a low cutoff(40) and low resonance(20?) in lowpass mode(0) then connect to a reverb. Connect another output direct to the reverb. This should give a fuller sound without sounding fake... JC - 1f1 Recording Collective
Do you have a great pad sound, but in mono? You can get a great stereo picture by using an X-Delay and Stereo Reverb. romax
To spice up a sampled drum loop, try running it through two EQ-3s, one panned hard left and the other panned hard right. Raise the mids on one and raise the highs on the other. This produces a slight stereo separation between different drum types (hihats and snares for instance). nathansnider
Acoustic drums can sound really cool when ran through KBP's Reversor. Cody
You can simulate frequency modulation (FM) by running a signal through Rout Vibrato, and pulling freq and depth both to 100%%. It makes cool FX! Cody
Try to avoid using to many EQ's when setting up the machines. Using EQ's only to correct bad sounds is a good idea, but adding more EQ to a good sound can be harmful and sound muddy. Try listening to similar professianal music and compare the EQ to yours and adjust it to professianal quality. Cody
Reverb can add alot of warmth to your sound. Adding Stereo Reverb to the entire song helps alot, but don't get carried away and add too much reverb. Try putting on headphones and adjusting the reverb to your taste. Cody
Geonik's Resonator is VERY useful. Use it on noise (Noise Generator) to synthesize hi-hats and snare drums or claps. Then try running it thru a kDist set to limit signal (since the ouput can be very loud when the resonance is all the way up.) This allows you to lower the volume and still get the clipping distortion that you get from a very loud signal. White Noise
Geonik's 2P Filter coupled with the Saturator can be the best thing that ever happened to your dark acidic bassline. Just use a high pass with medium resonance from your generator, then run it thru the Saturator rolled all the way to the left, then use an Arguelles gain and gain it up to audible volume. This gives you a very nice clipping sound but still remains warm and Liquid. Static
Geonik's Dolby Surround is not just for surround effects. You can make a drumloop sound a lot more spacious by running it through a surround. romax
If you have a drumloop with a great sound, but it's too messy, you can use Geonik's Gate to make it hard and nice :) romax
Instead of using that badass drumloop you found, cut the loop up into sections, e.g.: bassdrum+hat, snare+hat, hat+ride, etc,.. then in the tracker editor, reconstruct the loop as it would normally sound, and also create varitions of the loop. The cutup samples will in turn give you more diversity and a more enjoyable/unique break. Mute
To get what I've found to be the most authentic sounding 303 out of buzz, use the Bass 3 machine, turn the resonance up to about 89.1%%, turn the cutoff down to between 0%% and 12%%, the decay down to 12%%, and then mess with the cutoff modulation to get the cool sweeping squeals we all love. Anomaly
The general trick of production with Trance music, is to set your lead line through a normal, or cross delay to a length of three ticks (ie. 3/16) and reasonably high feedback and medium wet amplitude. This will give your lead line space and will really accentuate your filter movements to a treat. Static
You got a killer bassline, the nastiest fex on yer loop... you got 3 seconds of a song. What's the best way to finish it up? Draw how you want the song to go on paper. Get your idea out quick, and after that you're practically done! o9
Use less machines, not more. Spend more time twiddling your machines and you'll find a great sound there, without adding more and more effects. Static
When trying to track realistic drum loops, consider how a human drummer would actually play i.e. he only has two hands and a bass drum. Also use more than one version of each drum sample you have, if possible, and use them interchangeably. sK
To RENDER a song as quickly as possible to a WAVfile, simply set the wave device to SILENT. Using the HD recorder now will render the song as fast as possible, meaning that a 2min song will render in 1min if it uses 50%% CPU Pyroscott
When in the sequence screen (F4), hold Ctrl and press the right or left arrow buttons to RE-SORT your machines. Sine909

You can get HELP for some machines by right clicking on the machine in the machine view and selecting 'Help'. Chimp
In the 808 machine, you can press TAB to jump straight to the triggers. Cody
To make Bass3 sound more "fat" in your favourite acidline tweak with decay for every note. More decay for longer notes or the vice versa.. Tincan
Important: RIP OFF YOUR F1 Key.. Theres nothing worse then movin 200mph and launching your browser for help by accident. Sine909
Create a 'live' copy of buzz.. this means mirror your directory, but delete all the machines you dont use. Then rename the ones you like to whatever you are comfy with. This'll help you get to everything much quicker. Sine909
Newbies, a way to increase productivity in Buzz is to learn all the hot keys, being able to do things faster will allow you to do more things in a shorter period of time. The quicker you can get things into buzz the less likely you are to "corrupt" your ideas, or lose interest. :) twin
Invest in a mouse with a mouse wheel, these allow you to make VERY fine adjustments to the sliders. twin
Invest in a second monitor, this allows you to have almost all of your machine settings open while still being able to see the patter editor (or whatever). This can also come in handy when copying parameter numbers from the machine settings to the pattern editor. twin
To get a nice "wind" sound, use a noise generator connected to a Filter with some resonance, then change the cutoff on the Filter to change the wind frequency, sweeping the cutoff sounds cool!. DrPetter
You can also expand on Dr.Petters tip and make a very human "whistling" sound by using a 4p filter on some noise as well... Or Geoniks resonator. twin
Move the song position to wherever you want in the sequence editor by clicking anywhere on the position numbers to the left of screen. Muzza
Use the tb3003 for melody things... and use the tb4004 for rythm bass lines (you can use the tb4004 also for nice melodys but its a little bit more filtered... the tb3003 has a clearer sound.) kida
